About Hunter College Computer Science Postgraduate Work

Postgraduate
Professor Stewart Weiss, Hunter graduate Yuk Shan Cheng (and her baby) and Computer Science Department Chair Virginia Teller (l-r). Ms. Cheng was the 2007 CS prize winner.

The Path After Graduation

Hunter College does not have a Master's program in computer science, but graduates can apply to the CUNY PhD Program in Computer Science. All of the professors in the Computer Science Department are members of the doctoral faculty at the CUNY Graduate Center, and many routinely teach graduate level courses there. This opens the door to graduate study for some students, because they feel more comfortable getting their feet wet in graduate courses with a familiar face at the lectern.

Of course students can apply to any graduate school of their choosing. Students planning on going to graduate school should read the advice  that the Department offers.
