Freshman advisors assist freshmen in the transition to college life by mentoring them during their first two semesters at Hunter College. Particular attention is given to each student’s academic progress and any concerns about attaining academic success. Students may contact the Freshman Advisors via email at fao@hunter.cuny.edu, or by clicking on the advisor's name below.

*Note: Freshman Advisors are only assigned to first-time freshmen. If you are in your third semester or beyond, or if you have attended college at another institution, you may see any advisor in Advising Services. Check the Advisor Availability walk-in schedule for more information.

Major Department Advisors

Each academic department has advisors who are available to students interested in declaring or exploring  their majors. These advisors can answer questions about pre-requisites to declaring the major, major requirements, minor and elective options, internship, fieldwork and research opportunities, and graduate school and career paths.
