WELCOME TO THE SYLVIA E. FISHMAN STUDENT CENTER

The Sylvia E. Fishman Student Center, an extension of the Office of Student Services, was created to provide a safe, friendly, educational and supportive environment for all students and to help students create a strong foundation for their education. In the Center, students have the opportunity to discuss academic and personal issues with professional staff advisors and receive assistance with program planning from our Peer Advisors.
Hunter's Peer Advisors are ready to help you understand and select specific courses that satisfy the General Education Requirement (GER). They can also provide information about registration procedures. Program Planning sessions occur approximately two weeks prior to registration. Please visit our Program Planning web page or check The Hunter Gatherer events listing for specific dates and times.
To reserve space in the center for an event, print out the SEFSC Reservation Form, fill it out and bring it to the Student Center, 417 Hunter West, for confirmation.
The Sylvia E. Fishman Student Center also invites all students to participate in or to attend a variety of activities including:
- Student Leadership Colloquium
- Freshman Orientation
- Career Development Workshops
- Transfer Student Orientation
- Faculty Advising Week
- Undeclared Major Workshops
- Internship Meetings
- International Student Workshops
